The USHUAIA cruise, originally built for NOAA in the United States (National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration), is extremely well equipped and offers ample deck space as well as an open bridge. A full complement of inflatable landing crafts ensures excellent landings on otherwise inaccessible coasts, and provides wildlife viewing opportunities.

Each cabin has ample storage. The public areas include a spacious dining area (one seating), an observation lounge/lecture room equipped with multimedia, a bar and well-stocked libraries. A small changing room is available, as well as a small medical facility. The captain, officers and staff are all highly skilled in Antarctic navigation. They also love nature. Our team includes a group of experts who are passionate, knowledgeable and committed to protecting the environment. The chefs onboard prepare delicious cuisine, including local specialties. They also have a well-stocked bar with wines and spirits.

Departing from Ushuaia City

Ushuaia City is the most common departure point for Antarctica cruises, being the southernmost city in the world. Most itineraries depart from Ushuaia and cross the Drake Passage for about two days before reaching the Antarctic Peninsula. Depending on the weather and sea conditions, the crossing usually takes between 48 and 60 hours each way.

Getting to Ushuaia is relatively straightforward, with most travelers flying into Buenos Aires (Ezeiza Airport) and then connecting to Ushuaia's Malvinas Argentinas Airport (USH) on Aerolíneas Argentinas or LATAM. The flight from Buenos Aires to Ushuaia takes approximately 3 hours. To avoid missing your cruise due to flight delays, it is recommended to arrive in Ushuaia a day before the ship disembarks.
