We are offering the chance to visit both Whichaway and Echo camps during a single 8-day expedition. Guests often ask how to choose between them, as each provides an exceptional stay in two completely different settings. Whichaway is bold and indulgent, while Echo feels otherworldly and unlike anything else.
Space is available for only 12 guests at each camp in this unique travel route, which combines the top elements from both journeys. The Geographic South Pole represents the lowest point on Earth during your flight to this location, before you move into distant mountain areas which feature unusual natural beauty. During your travel, you will find the Blue River of Whichaway, which displays iridescent waters, and you will enter the Crystal Cave, which contains hexagonal ice formations suspended like chandeliers. The journey leads you to Echo Base, which sits among towering mountain peaks and exposed rock formations that break through the ice to create a lunar-like environment, which astronaut Buzz Aldrin described as similar to the moon's surface.
The trip to both camps enables you to experience every ice-based activity, which includes scaling frozen walls and taking basic glacier walks across shaped ice surfaces. You will also get to use the latest addition to Whichaway, called the Wellness Dome. The flight operations of this itinerary need flexibility because weather conditions affect our flight operations, which determine the duration of stays at each camp.
Your journey to Antarctica begins with a breathtaking flight from Cape Town to Wolf’s Fang Runway. After landing, you’ll transfer to the exclusive Whichaway Camp, where a heated sleeping pod awaits. Settle in, take in the pristine surroundings, and enjoy a welcome dinner beneath the glowing midnight sun — your first taste of life on the White Continent.
Wake up surrounded by striking rock formations and luminous blue ice. Spend the day discovering Whichaway’s remarkable environment with guided hikes, visits to the mesmerizing ice waves, or an unforgettable descent into the crystal-clear blue river system beneath the ice. As evening falls, relax in the sauna or savor a fireside dinner overlooking the vast Antarctic wilderness.
Push your limits with an exhilarating abseil down ancient ice cliffs, or slow the pace with restorative activities. Enjoy yoga inside the dome, indulge in a massage from the on-site Physical Therapist, or take a tranquil walk across the frozen lake leading to sweeping panoramic viewpoints.
The highlight of your Antarctic adventure awaits. Board a Basler aircraft and fly over endless mountain ranges and glittering ice plains. After refuelling at Dixie’s Camp, continue on to the geographic South Pole. Stand at 90° South, capture unforgettable photos, receive your passport stamp, and spend the night on the High Polar Plateau — a true milestone for any modern explorer.
Wake beneath canvas on the High Polar Plateau and enjoy breakfast before flying back across Antarctica. Arrive at Echo Camp, your second base, where you’ll celebrate your South Pole achievement with a refined three-course dinner and champagne under the infinite polar sky.
Echo Camp feels like another planet. Explore dramatic nunatak peaks rising from the ice, challenge yourself with ice climbing, or trek along untouched ridgelines offering jaw-dropping views in every direction.
Join IFMGA-certified mountain guides for a demanding high-mountain hike. Traverse exposed ridges and towering rock spires that puncture the ice cap, revealing some of the most surreal and unforgettable scenery Antarctica has to offer.
Your final moments on the White Continent are just as memorable. Watch your returning A330 or A340 land on the blue-ice runway at Wolf’s Fang. Enjoy time at the Ice Bar surrounded by sculpted ice, browse White Desert’s exclusive boutique, or relax with a film before flying back to Africa — carrying memories that will last a lifetime.

Weather can change quickly, and all activities are adapted daily to ensure safety and comfort.
The booking duration includes three nights before the Antarctic trip, starting from the departure date, and two nights following the return to Cape Town.
Our flights depend on the best weather conditions. This situation demands that international flights should be flexible, which allows passengers to make changes.
