Location

Surprisingly close to Quito yet set in a wild and remote area, Mashpi Lodge is located within the Metropolitan District of Quito, Ecuador’s capital. Just 100 km (60 miles) northwest of Quito, the lodge sits at an altitude of 950 meters (3,117 feet) above sea level. The surrounding reserve spans altitudes from 500 to 1200 meters (1,640 to 4,000 feet), combining tropical and subtropical climates to create a site teeming with diverse flora and fauna.

Design

Designed with conservation and comfort in mind, Mashpi Lodge was constructed using sustainable techniques to minimize environmental impact. Much of the structure was preassembled in Quito and carefully designed to fit the site’s topography. The lodge's modern design features floor-to-ceiling glass windows, offering guests a complete immersion in the surrounding forest. With contemporary decor that blends warm earth tones, steel, stone, and glass, Mashpi Lodge provides a luxurious sanctuary in the heart of nature.
