Welcome to Sani Lodge

Explore the enchanting and enigmatic realm of one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World: the Amazon jungle. The first known exploration of this vast region occurred around 500 years B.C. by the Tupiguaraníes, a tribe migrating from the continent's south to explore and settle along the Amazon River. This exploration continued into the 18th century when a group of daring Spanish conquerors, accompanied by 3,000 indigenous people from Quito, embarked on a quest for a city of gold, cinnamon, and hidden Incan treasures.

During your visit, you'll have the chance to discover pristine forests, learn about the intricate relationships between plants and animals, seek out breathtaking flora and fauna, and gain insights from ancient cultures—the true gems of the Amazon Rainforest. Staying with us means becoming part of a community where we share knowledge about the environment and culture. At Sani Lodge, you not only embark on an incredible adventure but also immerse yourself in the Amazon Kichwa way of life. Join us to support the indigenous community and rainforest conservation, and you'll quickly come to cherish this as your home away from home.

Sani Lodge is situated within the Yasuní Biosphere Reserve and spans 24,000 hectares of Yasuní National Park, making up part of a total of 42,000 hectares (103,784 acres) of pristine forest. The nearest city, Francisco de Orellana (Coca), is three hours away and remains largely untouched by modern human activity, providing a perfect setting to experience one of the most diverse primary forests on the planet.
