Sullivan Bay & Bartolome Island Galapagos Tour - Monday - Galaxy Skape Yacht
This tour takes place every Monday and Friday. Offers a mix of marine life and volcanic landscapes. It starts at Sullivan Bay where you can go snorkeling. You might see colorful fish swimming around rocks. Have a chance to spot reef sharks, sea turtles and sea lions. Then you go to Bartolome Island for a landing. From there, you walk up 395 steps to the top of the island. From the top, you can see the island and Pinnacle Rock. Along the way, you will see lava tunnels, lava cacti, tiquilla plants and Darwin’s finches. After the walk, you take a zodiac ride, along the coast. You might see the Galapagos penguin during this ride.
The tour runs every Monday with a meeting at 7:00 a.m. At the entrance of Puerto Ayora’s Church in front of the pier. People who are going on the tour need to be 10 minutes before the start. A vehicle takes them from the meeting point to the Itabaca Channel. That place is where they leave and where they come back. The day starts at Sullivan Bay. The water there is very clear. It is a place for snorkeling around rocks and groups of colorful fish. Sometimes people who are snorkeling might see reef sharks, sea turtles and friendly sea lions.
At Bartolome Island, the visit starts with a landing. Then there is a walk along a path that goes to the top of the island. The path has 395 steps. At the top there is a view of the island and the tall rock called Pinnacle Rock. While walking, guests can see tunnels made of lava from the last time the volcano erupted. There is also plant life there, like lava cacti and tiquilla plants. Birds called Darwin’s finches are often around. The information says that the volcanic ash created Pinnacle Rock. After the walk, they take a zodiac boat ride along the coast. This might be a chance to see the Galapagos penguin. The estimated time to go back is 5:00 p.m.
