8 Day Nordic Itinerary
Day 1: Welcome to Iceland
Transfer by private coach and guide to Reykjavik from Keflavik International
Airport.
Day 2: Reykjavik City Tour & Borgarf Jordur Saga Valley
Meet your guide at 09:00 to show the group Iceland's vibrant capital. Then we head west. At the Settlement Center in Borgarnes, we learn more about Iceland's early days. We then head to Borgarfjordur - also known as Saga Valley owing to its important history. Climb the Grabrok crater volcano and see Deildartunguhver - Europe's strongest hot spring. Hraunfossar consists of a number of waterfalls that pour from a large lava field. Barnafoss, the Children's Falls is located nearby and has its own tragic story. In the afternoon, there is a talk about Northern Lights. Step into the garden of your hotel after dinner to search for the Northern Lights, followed by hot chocolate or tea.
Day 3: Snæfellsnes Peninsula & Lava Cave
Snaefellsnes Peninsula is a peninsula that juts from Iceland's western coast. It looks
like an arm clenched at the tip. In many ways, it represents the entire island. It is a
rugged mountain range that runs the length of it. The fishing village Grundarfjordur
has a stunning coastline, mountains, waterfalls and lakes behind it. Kirkjufell is one of
Iceland's most famous and photographed mountains. It can be seen sticking out from
the bay. Vatnshellir Cave is the perfect place to experience this area. Visit Arnarstapi,
Hellnar and then explore it from beneath. You will go 35 meters below ground and
200 meters in the Snaefellsjokull lava tube! As part of the Northern Lights Academy,
the guide will give you practical tips for photographing the Auroras on the return trip
to Borgarnes. As soon as darkness descends, we head out to the garden of the hotel
to hunt for the Northern Lights, and soak in its outdoor hot tubs.

Hvalfjordur is a fjord that you can travel along. Thingvellir National Park is the first
stop, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. As you travel the Golden Circle, watch the

spring bread with Icelandic Butter, boiled egg and herring. We continue to the
double Gullfoss waterfall. Afternoon: Learn about Icelandic horses, their unique

before arriving at your accommodation in South Iceland. In the quiet and peaceful
countryside of Iceland, search in darkness for the Northern Lights.

Day 5: Natural Wonders of South Iceland & Eyjafjallajokull Volcano
We are now on the South Coast. Learn about active volcanoes and geology at the
Lava & Volcano Exhibition Center. We continue east to visit Iceland's best folk
museum. The museum has a large collection of domestic and farm artifacts and
turf-built homes from Iceland’s past. Skogafoss, a 60-meter high waterfall and one
of Iceland's most beautiful waterfalls is nearby. Afternoon stroll along the bird cliffs
and the black lava beaches at Reynisfjara, South Iceland. Two nights are spent
near Kirkjubaejarklaustur, in Vatnajokull's National Park. The area is in complete
darkness so it makes for the perfect place to search for Northern Lights.

Day 6: Vatnajokull National Park & Glacier Including Glacias Lagoon and Diamond Beach
The program today is about glaciers and icebergs. Then we travel to Jokulsarlon - a
lagoon of icebergs and glaciers - and explore this amazing sight. We may even see
seals in the arctic water. On the "Diamond Beach", a black sand beach where large
icebergs strand, you can take a walk. We visit the small turf church in Hof, then
spend some time in Europe's biggest national park. This park has Iceland's tallest
mountains and an alpine setting, as well as Europe's most massive glacier. As part
of the Northern Lights Academy, enjoy an evening film about the Northern Lights.
In this quiet and remote location, you don't want to miss the chance to see the
Northern Lights dancing and shimmering across the sky.
Optional Ice Cave Tour is offered from October to April (weather permitting). The
tour lasts about 2,5 hours - 30 minutes by 4x4 and then 5-15 minutes of hiking
(one way). The ice cave is about an hour long. Good hiking boots and warm
clothes that keep you dry are required. The minimum age for this tour is 10. You

can book the ice cave on day two of Northern Lights Exploration Tour. After the
tour of the ice cavern, the local guide will take the ice-cavern explorers back to
their hotel. The rest of the tour group can continue with the tour. Ice cave
explorers may miss some parts of the tour program because there's not enough
time, but all members will be able to visit the Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon.

Day 7: South Shore & Sky Lagoon
We make a stop at Vik village, which is located across the Eldhraun Lava Field. It is
breathtaking to see the black lava beaches with their high bird cliffs, pounding surf
and high bird cliffs. We continue west to the narrow but high Seljalandsfoss falls
which erupts out of the mountain. Afternoon: We get to relax in the Sky Lagoon at
Reykjavik.
