Keep your binoculars at the ready to spot the myriad seabirds accompanying the ship as we navigate through the Antarctic Convergence into the cooler waters of Antarctica.

Day 6: South Shetland Islands

Over the years, the volcanic activity shaping the South Shetland Islands has sculpted a geological landscape unparalleled elsewhere. Here, you'll encounter a breathtaking panorama of mountains, glaciers, and diverse wildlife, including Chinstrap and Gentoo penguins, with occasional encounters with Elephant and Fur seals sharing the shores. Whale sightings are also frequent. Thus, we'll embark on the Zodiacs, dedicating most of the day to exploration. For kayakers, it's an opportunity to experience the sensation of gliding just inches above the pristine Antarctic waters. Whether on land or sea, aboard a zodiac or kayak, brace yourself for an immersive introduction to this extraordinary corner of the globe.

Day 7, 8 & 9: Glorious Antarctica

This is the opportunity to explore a variety of scenic bays and harbors, navigating through channels abundant with icebergs and into waters teeming with wildlife. We're likely to encounter a multitude of charming penguins, seals, and whales, both in the sea and along the rugged coastlines. Additionally, we'll have excellent chances to visit several active scientific bases and historic landing sites during the typical two outings per day. For those who opt in, a night of camping under the starlit sky promises an unforgettable experience. The priority is always to maximize the length and adventure of the off-ship excursions, so get ready to immerse yourself fully in all that Antarctica has to offer.

Day 10 & 11: Drake Passage

As we bid farewell to this enchanting realm, expect to depart feeling inspired, fatigued, and quite possibly transformed forever. The journey takes us northward, traversing the renowned Drake Passage once more. To mark the culmination of the expedition, we'll commemorate the experiences with a special slideshow and photography awards ceremony, followed by a final communal meal together.
