13 Day Antarctica Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Ushuaia

You can leave your worries behind about potential missed connections or flight delays when you land in the southernmost city in the world. Instead, savor an additional day to relax and indulge in the luxurious accommodations of Ushuaia’s premier hotel, the Arakur Resort & Spa. Whether you choose to unwind in the infinity pool, venture into the hiking trails encircling the resort, or explore the charms of the southernmost city on the globe, you're in for a treat.

Day 2: Explore Ushuaia

Embark on an adventure through the attractions of Ushuaia, from its museums to the bustling Argentinean leather markets. Alternatively, you can opt to extend your relaxation at the hotel. Join us for the evening briefing at the Arakur, where you can engage with fellow travelers and seek answers to any inquiries you may have.

Day 3: All Aboard Seaventure

Enjoy your morning discovering Ushuaia's charms or luxuriate in relaxation at the resort until the mid-afternoon transfer to the ship. Upon arrival, the Expedition Team and ship crew will warmly greet you and assist with settling in. Following this, we'll conduct a safety briefing and orientation, culminating in a delightful Captain's welcome dinner. The journey to Antarctica begins!

Day 4 & 5: Drake Passage

Accompany the Polar Experts as they impart their extensive expertise on Antarctica, spanning its captivating wildlife and rich history. Engage in the innovative Citizen Science initiative, or simply relax and absorb the essence of this legendary expedition while catching fleeting glimpses of seldom-seen wildlife. Keep your binoculars within reach to spot the myriad seabirds accompanying the vessel as we traverse the Antarctic Convergence into the cooler waters of Antarctica.

Day 6 & 7: South Shetland Islands

Over the years, the volcanic activity in the South Shetland Islands has forged a geological landscape unparalleled elsewhere. Here, anticipate a breathtaking panorama of mountains, glaciers, and a diverse array of wildlife, including Chinstrap and Gentoo penguins. It's not uncommon to share the shoreline with Elephant and Fur seals, with whales frequently making appearances too. Thus, we'll embark on the Zodiacs, dedicating most of the day to exploration. Kayakers, this is your opportunity to experience the sensation of gliding mere inches above the untouched Antarctic waters. Whether on land or at sea, in Zodiacs or kayaks, prepare for an immersive introduction to this extraordinary corner of the globe.

Day 8, 9 & 10: Immersive Antarctica

Explore the majestic beauty of Antarctica with us. Over the upcoming days, we'll navigate through stunning bays and renowned harbors, traversing scenic channels adorned with magnificent icebergs and a captivating array of wildlife in the bustling waters. Get ready to witness the wonder as we encounter various species of penguins, seals, and whales along the rugged coastline and in the ocean. We'll have ample chances to visit active scientific stations and historic landmarks, ensuring we make the most of all the continent has to offer.

Day 11 & 12: Drake Passage

Departing from this enchanting locale, we head northward, once more traversing the famed Drake Passage. As the expedition draws to a close, we commemorate the journey with a final celebration, featuring a special slideshow and a last shared meal together.

Day 13: Ushuaia Disembarkation

In the morning, we disembark with wide smiles on the tired yet fulfilled faces, offering you the option to catch a flight to Buenos Aires or extend your stay in Ushuaia for further exploration and adventure.

13 Day Antarctica cruise activities

Sea Kayaking
Under full instruction from your sea kayaking guide, experience true tranquillity as you paddle through clinking ice floes and realise the enormity of the surrounding scenery. Look out for breaching whales, lounging seals and penguins zipping alongside your kayak. Some experience is required.
Ice Camping

Snowshoeing
