8 Day Galapagos Itinerary

Day 1: Baltra Airport: Chinese Hat

Baltra Island Airport reception. Arrival transfer. Welcome aboard the Grand Ocean Spray. Welcome drink. Lunch.

Baltra Island: Chinese Hat

This place allows visitors to witness Galapagos animals in their natural environment while displaying untouched volcanic rock formations that exist nowhere else on Earth. The island received its name because its form resembles an Asian hat design. The shoreline hosts American Oystercatchers and Galapagos Penguins, which swim together in the water.

Dinner.

Meals Included: Lunch / Dinner

Day 2: Isabela Island: Vicente Roca Point & Espinosa Point

Vicente Roca Point

Vicente Roca Point contains unique geological features that attract multiple bird species to the location. The visitor site stands in the island's western region, which allows the Cromwell Current to bring nutrient-rich cold water that supports both terrestrial and marine life, resulting in spectacular feeding events.

Espinosa Point

As one of the most pristine islands in the archipelago, Fernandina has never had a foreign species invade. It is also the most active island and farthest west. Espinoza Point stands as the single visitor destination that exists throughout the island. The location offers visitors the chance to observe marine iguanas and Galapagos hawks while taking part in a guided walk and snorkeling experience at one of the most untouched areas worldwide.

Meals Included: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner

Day 3: Isabela Island: Tagus Cove & Urbina Bay

Tagus Cove

The travelers chose this location as their main stopping point during their ocean journeys. The trail leads visitors to stunning views of the cove, together with the mangrove forest, which protects the remaining 35 pairs of Mangrove finches.

Urbina Bay

The ocean floor used to contain Urbina Bay during the distant past, which dates back millions of years. The land started to rise because of volcanic activity, which created a new home for sea lions, land iguanas, and flightless cormorants. The location provides visitors with two options for their free time activities because they can choose to relax on the beach or follow the guide's recommendation for a walking tour.

Meals Included: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner

Day 4: Isabela Island: Elizabeth Bay & Moreno Point

Elizabeth Bay

The visitor site remains accessible only through dinghy transportation because park officials have established no official landing zones to protect the island from damage. You will discover numerous sea creatures while traveling in the dinghy because the water remains transparent.

Moreno Point

The rocky coastline at Moreno Point displays numerous bird species, which make it a top destination for bird watchers. People who love birds will find this place extremely attractive. The site draws visitors through its coastal lagoons, which host white sharks, and its breathtaking views of Sierra Negra and Cerro Azul volcanoes.

Meals Included: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner

Day 5: Santa Cruz Islands: Charles Darwin Research Station & Highlands

Charles Darwin Research Station

The Galápagos Islands display their most vital tourist destination through the Charles Darwin Research Station. The center maintains a vast collection of native plants while working to protect endangered species through its partnership with the Charles Darwin Foundation. The organization works to restore endangered ecosystems through wildlife breeding and invasive species removal, which protects the native plants and animals of the islands.

Highlands

The northern section of Santa Cruz contains the highlands, which extend to about 1500 meters above sea level. The region contains a diverse landscape of hills, ferns, volcanoes, and various wildlife species. The island presents a complete transformation from the other islands, which display hardened lava and rocky shorelines. This part of the island is home to giant tortoises, together with mockingbirds and finches, plus numerous other animal species.

Meals Included: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner

Day 6: South Plazas Island & Santa Fé

South Plazas Island

South Plaza ranks as the smallest island with visitor access, yet it hosts an extensive variety of plants and animals. The island supports a big population of Sesuvium plants together with prickly pear cactus trees, which provide essential food resources for land iguanas. The island achieved rodent-free status when mice disappeared during the past several years, which allowed land iguanas to expand their numbers successfully. The turquoise water displays stunning colors, which contrast with the black lava to create an ideal environment for photographers.

Santa Fe

Here lives the Santa Fe iguana only in this particular region. The island originated from volcanic activity, which created an environment suitable for Opuntia and Palo Santo tree growth. The island displays a beautiful landscape that contains two separate paths that direct visitors to either a viewing platform or a secluded beach area.

Meals Included: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner

Day 7: Suarez Point & Gardner Bay / Osborn Islets

Suarez Point

This site provides an outstanding platform to view all the unique animals that exist only on Española Island. Tourists can observe and witness a juvenile albatross start its oceanic flight.

Seabirds remain at sea for extended periods while returning to land only during their breeding season. The birds spend their entire life with the same partner, while they reunite annually for reproduction purposes.

The island hosts several species, which include marine iguanas that display their bright colors throughout the year, Galapagos doves and Nazca boobies, blue-footed boobies and swallow-tailed gulls, red-billed tropic birds, and Darwin finches.

Gardner Bay / Osborn Islet

This white sandy beach serves as a habitat for numerous sea lions who coexist with the stunning blue and turquoise ocean water. The birdwatcher can observe three different finch species together with the Españolamockingbird. The Osborn and Gardner islets offer fantastic underwater exploration opportunities.

Snorkeling activities are the main attraction.

Meals Included: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner

Day 8: San Cristobal Interpretation Center & Airport

San Cristobal Interpretation Center

San Cristobal serves as the location where Charles Darwin began his first landing. The area serves as the base for the Galapagos capital and contains various government buildings while functioning as an Ecuadorian Navy base. The Galapaguera center breeds giant tortoises, which live in a semi-natural environment that the facility has designed.

 Airport

Transfer to the San Cristobal airport, where you will take the flight to mainland Ecuador.
