Antioquia Museum reopens its doorways on Sundays

2024-06-19

As of May 19, the Museo de Antioquia in Medellín reopened its doors on Sundays, in response to the growing demand for cultural activities by local and international visitors to the city center. This decision marks the return to service after several years of closure on Sundays for economic reasons.

The museum features both permanent and temporary exhibitions, along with curated narratives that spark important discussions about history. On Sundays, it will host special events such as workshops, guided tours, conferences, and interactive activities aimed at fostering engagement with art and promoting active citizenship.

Visitors can also explore nearby attractions like the Plaza de Botero, showcasing 23 sculptures donated by Fernando Botero. Admission fees vary: $16,000 for Colombian nationals, $30,000 for foreigners, and a reduced rate of $12,000 for visitors over 62 years old. Groups of more than 8 people can enter at discounted rates of $13,600 for Colombians and $25,500 for foreigners. Admission is free for residents of strata 1, 2, and 3 in Medellín to ensure accessibility.
