Experience the arrival of the New Year in a distant location which stands as one of the most stunning remote destinations across the globe. The Antarctic exploration which starts in Ushuaia takes you through the dangerous Drake Passage before reaching the icy Antarctic Peninsula.

The expedition explores the dangerous Antarctic Sound together with the Weddell Sea which hosts many wildlife species and dangerous tabular icebergs that move across the frozen ocean. The travelers will find penguin colonies that thrive in their natural habitat while seals sleep on floating ice and whales swim through the Southern Ocean. The New Year's Eve celebration becomes exceptional because you get to experience Antarctica's unspoiled natural environment during this polar expedition.

11 Day Antarctica Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Ushuaia

The expedition starts its journey at Ushuaia which stands as the furthest city toward the south in Argentina. The town of Tierra del Fuego and Beagle Channel stands surrounded by dramatic natural scenery while serving as the main entry point to Antarctica. The waterfront area along with museums and scenic viewpoints become available for exploration to visitors who arrive before their expedition starts. The expedition team receives their first briefing during the evening which also provides information about Antarctica's animal species and its natural scenery and past exploration activities.
Meals Included: Lunch / Dinner

Day 2: Boarding the Expedition Ship

The final morning in Ushuaia leads travelers to board their expedition ship which will take them on their departing voyage. The mountains of Tierra del Fuego disappear from sight as the ship moves through the Beagle Channel. The expedition team along with orientation briefings help travelers get ready for their Southern Ocean voyage which begins when the ship leaves for open waters.
Meals Included: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner

Day 3: Crossing the Drake Passage

The expedition crosses the legendary Drake Passage, the body of water connecting South America and Antarctica. The polar experts who guide the voyage share their knowledge about Antarctic animal species and the continent's past and its natural environment during the trip.
