The ancient salt pools, which are part of the attractions of the Sacred Valley of the Incas, will be opened to tourists thanks to a new initiative to be launched on September 27, in celebration of World Tourism Day.
Edwin Pizarro, reported that the project will focus mainly on the implementation of security measures, including improvements to the access roads from the asphalted branch road and the routes leading to the natural attraction. Pizarro noted that the nighttime experience will offer impressive photographic opportunities and mentioned that parking facilities will be expanded. Although visitors currently enjoy observing the traditional salt production during the day, there is not yet an estimate of the number of tourists that might visit the site during the new nighttime hours.
According to Pizarro, the project aims to improve tourist services and is being developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, which oversees the site's preservation.

This cultural event is designed to boost tourism and support the livelihoods of 663 families dedicated to protecting the natural attraction.
