On Thursday, the Ministry of Culture confirmed the full activation of the Peruvian State platform for purchasing entrance tickets to archaeological sites and museums managed by the sector, including the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu.
In a statement, the Ministry highlighted that the State-run platform—developed by this government body in collaboration with the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM) Digital Transformation and Government Secretariat—is now operational and accessible to the public.
“This enhancement will improve the visitor experience and strengthen protection and entry control measures, integrating with databases from the National Registry of Identification and Civil Status (Reniec), the National Superintendence of Migrations (Migraciones), the Foreign Trade and Tourism Ministry (Mincetur), and the Natural Areas Protected by the State (Sernanp),” the statement emphasized.
During her Independence Day Address, President Dina Boluarte announced that the new platform for purchasing electronic tickets to enter Machu Picchu—located in Urubamba province, Cusco region—was ready. She noted that the platform, hosted on the National Digital Government Platform, offers "controls, guarantees, and accessible interoperability for Machu Picchu, providing transparent, objective, and secure information."
Website Maintenance Scheduled
The official also mentioned that the Peruvian State Platform for the Management of Visits to Cultural Centers began operating on July 18 at the service point established at the Machu Picchu Cultural Center. To facilitate further implementation, the virtual ticket sales module, available through tuboleto.cultura.pe, will undergo technical maintenance from August 2 at 8:00 p.m. to August 3 at 8:00 p.m.
"During this time, the tuboleto.cultura.pe website will be temporarily suspended and unavailable," the statement said. The Ministry of Culture assured that in-person ticket sales at the Machu Picchu Pueblo (Town) Cultural Center would continue as normal.
Tickets purchased in advance will remain valid, guaranteeing access to Machu Picchu and the Inca Trail Network. Finally, the Ministry announced the implementation of the Tu Boleto (Your Ticket) customer service channel, available to answer questions regarding entry to Machu Picchu or the Inca Trail Network, Monday to Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. via phone at (+01) 321 5555 (from Peru) and (+511) 321 5555 (from abroad) or by email at [email protected].
