A new luxury expedition yacht is set to enter service in late 2028, expanding the range of high-end, environmentally focused cruising options. The vessel, named Atlas Adventurer, has been designed to combine expedition capability with large-scale luxury, accommodating up to 400 guests with a crew of 275.
With a gross tonnage of 26,000, the yacht will incorporate a range of advanced technologies aimed at reducing emissions. Its propulsion system combines dual engines with electric-hybrid power and a 9-megawatt marine battery. Under favorable wind and weather conditions, three carbon masts fitted with solid sails will allow the ship to operate with zero emissions while sailing.
The design also includes zero-speed fin stabilizers for improved comfort and a reinforced hull rated to Ice Class 1B, enabling operations in polar and cold-water regions. These features position the vessel for both remote expedition cruising and environmentally sensitive destinations.
On board, the ship will offer all-suite accommodations, seven dining venues and five lounges. Expedition-specific facilities include Zodiacs for shore landings and a marina platform with an ocean pool, supporting activities directly from the ship.
Detailed itineraries have not yet been released, but the yacht is expected to operate across a wide range of destinations in Asia and Africa.
Japan and South Korea
China and Southeast Asia, including Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines
Indian Ocean destinations such as the Seychelles and Madagascar
East and Southern Africa, including Tanzania, Kenya, Mozambique and South Africa
The introduction of the Atlas Adventurer reflects a broader move within expedition cruising toward larger vessels that balance sustainability features with luxury amenities, ahead of its anticipated debut in 2028.
